1st day of Taiwan trip

Okay obviously I'm too lazy it's been a week after I came back and I didn't write anything like I've promised. So anyway, this is what we did for the first day:

Took Singapore Airline SQ 878 to Taoyuan International Airport. Arrived at 6+ pm (no time zone difference between Singapore and Taiwan). We met out tour guide 张爸爸. Now I suddenly realised that I should use 中文 因为这样比较容易。怪怪的过渡。总之,第一天没有做什么事情。然后我们就到我们的旅馆福容大饭店了。

然后我也忘记拍一张旅馆的照片了。 我们要在这个酒店待上五天。

Sorry for those who can't read Chinese. Since I went to Taiwan, it's obviously better to use Chinese. Moreover, this trip is CLEP creative writing Taiwan trip. CLEP stands for Chinese Language Elective Programme. Therefore, I shall use Chinese. 对不起啦。

哦,还有,我们去了一家风格独特的餐馆。外面还有一只很可爱的狗狗。

Below are the photos stolen from Xiao Tong's facebook:

Why am I using English again?

last day of my trip

Yay today is the last day of my CLEP Taiwan trip. Somehow all my friends are sad except for me, cos I'm coming to taiwan again during December by myself. This trip is totally awesome. The level of awesomeness is way too high to be described. We did so many things. I'll be posting a lot when I get to Singapore about each single day of my Taiwan trip, what I did and some photos I took. I'm quite sure that nobody is reading my blog, so I shall just post for my own pleasure. Just in case I'll forget about this trip later. #foreveralone

I shall make it a journal like thing. It's kind of good that nobody is looking at this, so that I do not have to write to suite other's taste.

Sunday 28 October 2012

Yay I'm posting again!

I'm posting a lot recently which means that my blog isn't dead anymore, for the time being. Cos I'm way too bored.

So, now is post exam and time should be meaningfully, joyfully spent. All our dream fall short after Mr Tay told us to do an IH presentation. Tmr.

Well, seems that all teachers have this misconception that after exam = we are free. Well, we are not. We need to do cool stuff, like growing cupcakes and rabbidizing trees.

So, instead of having a wonderful weekend, we spent hours at home doing script and powerpoint slides for the presentation. And the presentation is only 10 min.

T.T

And we have to bring own laptop some more. 这么没有诚意。

Okay, enough of my ranting. Tomorrow is another long day to endure. The only thing I'm looking forward to is the CLEP taiwan trip briefing. Yup, I'm going TAIWAN!!! :D Have I mentioned this anywhere in this blog? I forgot. So this is the update: I'm going TAIWAN!!! :D. Oh wait I realised I mentioned it in le ambitious holiday plan. Okay nm.

And also the guy from Maldives finally stopped calling me. He called me like 1am in the morning. Must have forgotten about the time zone difference. After I ignored him for 2 days, he gave up and never harass me any more.

My life is awesome. The end.

A Dilemma

So, the past three days have been doomsday for us all, because we are getting back our EOY result. !@#$%^&

Anyway, because I didn't really study very hard for this EOY, I should consider my results as good. This time, the science teachers are the trollers, and the humanity teachers seem like the nicest people on the world. Well, everybody died for physics and bio, and survived IH. In fact, our class did remarkably well for IH. When we passed the scripts to the front, I observed a number of 50+ (out of 55, yes our class is crazy). For those dying to know my mark, congratulations, I am not going to tell you so swallow your disappointment and read on.

Okay, back to the topic where our science teachers are trollers, you should see their look when we get back our papers, the physics teachers have the sinister look and our bio teachers' faces are all dark. I am expecting at least above 80 for my sciences but my bio failed me by one mark. This really irritates me, given that I spent like 5 days to revise for my bio and one day for physics+chem. The whole level did pretty badly for bio. My class only has a few who get higher than 80. I wonder if there is anybody who get higher than 90 in the entire level?

Physics is…I don’t know, not sure if it’s good or bad. There is some parts inside which I want to kill myself for doing it wrong. When I get back my paper the red markings seem to be screaming to me “Y U get this wrong you idiot”. Especially when I realised I shaded one answer in my OAS wrongly. I literally strangled myself (but then I ran out of oxygen so my hand dropped). There are some trick questions inside also, making the setters 100% trolls. (pun intended)

Chemistry is…THE BEST SUBJECT IN THE WORLD!!!!! Yes it is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Chemistry is awesome. Haha me love chemistree.

I think our school’s chem standard is quite low, especially when being compared to phy and bio. I heard that HCI is learning the quantum model of the atoms o.o but we are still stuck at circular, two dimensional orbits. Seriously, if we used 2 months to do mole, we surely have time to learn the quantum model and other cool stuff, and do not have to self study air and atmosphere during the holidays >:(

Sigh.

So, linking back to the topic “a dilemma”, I don’t know whether to pair chem with physics or with bio. Well, personally I like physics more because I have to think and little memorisation is required. However, I know very well that I may not have the brain. Especially when we get to the higher level of education, I am not sure whether I will be able to cope well. Physics really require the gift, if you can’t do, you can’t do. For bio, at least your performance will be directly proportional to the effort you put in, but you need to study really really hard, and I'm not interested in becoming a doctor/microbes/dissection/growing bacteria etc. If I ever become a biologist, I'll become a naturalist but that will be too far away from the field of chemistry. Okay, so why must I pair up chemistry anyway? Because learning purely chemistry will narrow your scope of occupation by a lot, and it will be mostly industrial chemistry, meaning you have to stay in a factory or something like that, which is dangerous and boring. I think I'm more interested in science than technology, I don't care how you use it, I just want to discover it :D

And although I love explosions, I certainly do not want to be in the explosion itself.

So, this is the dilemma, and I will have to make a choice in sec 4, before I move on to JC.

Maybe I should toss a coin?

(P.S. after this EOY I'm not sure if it is really such a good idea to venture into the fields of phy and bio when I grow up)

Le ambitious holiday plan

1. Do finish bio notes on last 2 chapters.
Okay this is a bit stupid, but I didn't finish my bio notes before my bio EOY.

2. Study my chem olympiad notes thoroughly.
People who know my miserable life will know how I suffered this year's chem olympiad. So far I only managed to understand 50% of what is being taught. To prevent myself from suffering again next year, I shall understand this year's topic thoroughly before moving on.

3. Study for biomedics olympiad.
Why am I always studying even during the holidays? #sadlifeofanyghstudent

4. Go Taiwan!!!
Yes I'm going to Taiwan!!! For GCP and on my own, which means I'll be going twice. Muhahahaha

5. Revive my blog
precisely what I'm doing now

6. Learn html (optional)

7. Maths HW--self study on two maths topics
Why is my life so sad?

8. Think of a good project to do for my smp next year.

9. Earn $100 (optional)

btw today a random guy from Maldives called my phone thrice and asked me to go internet or sth. I wonder where my phone number could have leaked.

Marking day holiday

Today is just another day of the 5 day marking day holiday ( or is it six? never mind ). Because I'm too bored,  so I watched a lot of movies. I suddenly realised how big a collection of movies I have. (most pirated) And I managed to find a few very good ones.

I have watched bits and pieces of Fantasia since last year on youtube. I think it is a really wonderful creation,  mixing music with animation. There's two version of Fantasia, the 1940 version and 2000 version. For the 1940 version, EVERYTHING is hand drawn. The animators must have really put in a lot of hard work. Then for the 2000 version, technology comes into play and there is some help from the computer. But I think both are equally amazing and stunningly beautiful.

A few of my favourite pieces of both Fantasias are Rhapsody in Blue (2000), the Nutcracker Suite (1940) and the Firebird Suite (2000). The others are quite nice as well. I embedded a few youtube videos below. Enjoy.

Symphony No. 5 (opening of fantasia 2000)

Rhapsody in Blue

Carnival of the animals

Firebird Suite

Toccata and Fugue (opening of Fantasia 1940)

The Nutcracker Suite

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Night On Bald Mountain

I didn't really put everything here. If you are interested, you can try searching fantasia on google and youtube to see the rest. Oh and I tried to put the best quality videos here. if it is loading very slowly, try opening it up in youtube and adjust the quality to a lower one.

Most recent update 16 Feb 2013:
Well, Disney's been a badass and there's several videos taken down due to copyright. I tried to replace some of the videos but obviously their quality is not as good. Sorry. Also I can't find one for the rhapsody in blue animation :(

EOY OVERRRRRR!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA finally EOY over!!! That means mug mode deactivated and crazy mode activated!!!

So...I woke up this morning at 1pm.

I'm still dizzy until now. It was raining outside so it still feels like early morning. And I still want to sleep more...

I have nothing to do, so I went to play this facebook game called rabbids invasion. It is absolutely crazy to the maximum.

So, basically I control the rabbids and the rabbids invade the human world and build their rabbids city and make weird trees etc. It looks something like this:

Apparently I'm just too bored :D

time is nothing but relativity

Okay. Since I have a blog and it's been dead for years, maybe I should consider making a bit of use out of it?

Times have changed. This blog is created when I'm still Primary 5 XD. So, apparently being a sec 3 now, life certainly changed a whole lot. I think when I look back on my posts, I'm like looking at a different person.

Just a bit of important updates so that this blog links:
1. I'm sec 3
2. I'm in nanyang now.
3. ^homeworks pretty dominated my life
4. I have a sad life
5. But I'm still remaining positive.
6. I'm therefore using this blog for these joy and happiness in life, and occasionally sarcasm or satire?
7. So this blog is now for posting relatable stuff, and mocking my life in a light manner

Hehe, because facebook is too mainstream.

Ahh, I miss the time when people are still blogging.
